WSOP: The World Series Of Poker

March 2nd, 2011

The world series of poker is the ultimate challenge out there for both internet and real poker rooms players. The truth is that if you enter the WSOP you stand a chance to win lots and lots of money. But that is not the only reason. Just the fact that you made it there is a huge realization both for you as a player and for you as a person. If you want to really be a part of the poker world then WSOP is the place to start. With all the media attention you will be getting and with all the famous people that are going to be around you, you will get a chance to real show your skills and to improve them greatly since you will be surrounded only by the best of the best. Being in the heart of all these events and agitation is a quite exciting and fun thing to do in your poker career.

Nowadays, because of the satellite tournaments that are played in order to gain entrance to the WSOP, you can easily enter the world series of poker with a limited bankroll. The entrance fee for some of these tournaments can be as low as 40 and with that kind of money you can get to play in the end for over 2.000.000. (the tax required to enter the WSOP can be paid from the money won in the qualifying satellite tournament, so you will really only invest 40).

Still, when looking at it mathematically we realize that even entering the WSOP is a very lucky situation and that a many people lose a lot of money trying to enter it and even when they do they just lose instantly their 10.000 bankroll.

The WSOP is opened for every person over 21 years old and it can be won even by a skilled player no one has heard about that comes from a satellite tournament. This happened in 2003 when such a player won about 2,500,000 investing just the 40 entrance fee to the satellite tournament.

Young talents arise every year and ore and more players take part in the WSOP as years pass. You have a chance of winning even this great tournament if you have studied enough, if you learn every day new things and practice every day your strategies and approaches and if you manage to keep an overall good attitude so you can play your best hands and strategies.

Using Poker Odds Calculators: The Good, The Bad, And The

Using Poker Odds Calculators: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

Poker players are always looking for ways to improve their game strategies, or little hints and tips they might be able to apply to their own games to make them more successful. One thing that can be very useful is to know the true odds of the particular game you are playing. Knowing your chances will sometimes prompt you to make changes in your game that you ordinarily might not make that could be the difference between winning and losing. Many players adjust their betting methods as well, so that they can better optimize their winnings. More experienced poker players can do this by observing the other players and making guesses as to what their odds of winning are against those particular players. They change their hands or playing styles according to what they determine their odds are. Some players are very experienced with calculating their odds in this method, but there is a more exact way to determine your poker odds. Poker odds calculators can be found as free downloads and for sale on the internet, and many poker players are starting to use these to get more exact odds.

Some poker players opt to use hand odds calculators by entering the player and the board cards, then hitting a calculate button to get the odds for that particular player. The calculator will list how often that player will win the game, tie with other players, or lose altogether. These calculators can also be used to compare different hands with each other to help you determine the best poker hands. The only downside to using these calculators is that they dont factor in the fact that some players will inevitably fold, and that extra money will be added to the pot with each round of bets.

Many poker players who play in poker tournaments have also begun to use tournament equity calculators. These calculators are used to determine the average amount of prize money each participant should win based on the number of chips each player has during the tournament. The value of these chips will be less as the game progresses and players earn more chips. Some players will decide to sit out a tournament is they decide the prize pool isnt large enough for them. The only bad thing about using this type of calculator is that it automatically assumes all players are of equal skill levels, and it doesnt account for size and position of the blinds in the game, so it isnt always one hundred percent accurate.

Odds calculators are used by many poker players today, and are increasing in popularity. They can be very helpful in making decisions when it comes to many aspects of game play. It is important that players who use these calculators keep in mind that these calculators do have limitations and that the information they offer should never be the sole basis of how you play your game. There are too many variables to be factored in to make any calculation be totally accurate, and sometimes you just cant beat good ole human intuition.

The Female of the Species is More Deadlier than the

The Female of the Species is More Deadlier than the Male:The new internet poker player

Never underestimate the power of the pink pound; no not the spending power of our gay community but the women whose ever increasing disposable income is now becoming a seriously lucrative courtship with many online gambling sites.

With greater autonomy in their personal lives and fewer women being tied down with the responsibility of marriage and children, their spending power has escalated at a rate that not only keeps those shop tills ringing but has also given women the freedom to spend as they wish. With online gambling now a mainstream activity, the trend has also seen more women taking the lead in online poker playing. We only need to see the rising number of gambling sites catering exclusively to women to know that this is the market to be in.

Until very recently, the online poker boom was thought to be a male dominated arena with less than 10% of players at a typical casino poker game being women. But online gambling industry experts have recently set out to investigate internet poker trends that have led to the widespread increase of online poker websites. Two studies conducted in the US brought out interesting and unexpected revelations in terms of demographics and the overall popularity and appeal of online poker.

Surprisingly, the studies, one conducted by PC Data Spotlight on Games, show that over one third of online poker players are female with women being the fastest growing segment of the online poker playing public. The studies also revealed that an overwhelming majority of female poker players prefer to play at online poker sites. In fact, only 1 of every 6 women preferred online poker to regular poker!

As betting matures online, a large part of it will take place around casual games which just happen to be popular with women players. In fact, despite the assumed male dominance of online gambling, women do make up a significant share. Current figures show that this is approaching around 47% of all internet users being female.

Online gambling providers therefore need to take serious note of women players if they are to maximise the overall package and in turn increase the value and loyalty of these players. It would seem that although men are currently ahead of their female counterparts in online gambling, women gamers are rapidly creeping up the stakes to become one of the most powerful demographics to woo and within a few years, they will become the smartest group to bet on.
