Time To Buy Poker Chips? – Poker Chip Set Buying Guide
If youre in the market for poker chips, its a good idea to get the chip which best suits your needs. Poker chips come in varying weights and are made from different types of materials. The intended use should be the primary factor taken into consideration while making your poker chip purchase.
Poker chips come in different sizes which are measured by weight in grams. The most popular chip used in casinos is the 11.5 gram chips which are 39mm in diameter. These poker chips are used for their pleasing weight and size, plus they are not the most expensive poker chips on the block. With the amount of handling and abuse poker chips suffer, casinos would rather not shell out the extra money for the most expensive poker chips.
Actually, who could blame the casinos for wanting to reduce the costs involved in keeping an item which can be put in the players pocket and taken from the casino? Collecting poker chips is growing in popularity, so logically the amount of poker chips leaving the casino premises would also be on the rise.
If youre in the market for a regular game night with your friends type of chip, you may want to go with a less expensive poker chip yourself. If that is the case, then you have the option of going with the low budget ABS plastic poker chip. If youre intent is to impress your friends, or have a local charity poker night gala, then you may opt for the next step up the ladder which is the mother-of-pearl chip. The mother-of-pearl chips are also referred to as plaques.
The clay chip is next in line, and most of them are made of ABS plastic with a metal insert to give it an extra bit of weight, which makes for a more pleasant feel to the hand. Some clay poker chips are made of a clay composite, and are what is currently considered to be the top of the line in poker chips.
A new poker chip to make it on the scene is called Nexgen, which is made up of a type of clay composite material with a metal insert added to give it a weight of either 13gm or 15gm. It is yet to be seen whether this new poker chip will become the next favorite among avid poker players, or become the new choice for casinos.
You can purchase poker chips at novelty stores, online auctions, casinos and online gaming and hobby stores. Of course the price you pay for your poker chips will depend on the type of chips you choose, and the vendor. Before buying any of the higher end poker chips you should always do your research, and also ask other poker players where they purchase their poker chips.

Ok – so you like to try Three Card Poker? Good choice!
According to the Wizard of odds the house edge for the casino is as low as 2.32% on the pair plus bet. So even if you have no idea about the game you can still play for a long while before you run out of money with good chances of hitting a good hand (3 of a kind or straight flush).
When playing Three card Poker – play this strategy:
Always play the Ante and the Pair Plus bet
Always play the hand when you have Queen64 or higher
That’s it!
On my last trip to Vegas I have won a couple of hundred bucks in just a couple of minutes by hitting 2 good hands – and this can happen to you. I highly recommend downloading Kiwi Casino and playing “Poker Three” for fun for a while. It is a nice and fun poker variation.
What a Taxi driver in Vegas told me:
First he told me that he worked for a casino before – well probably not one of the best employees as he now drives a taxi – but never mind.
He has heard of players who go to the Bellagio or any other classy place – get a Players card to get their game rated – put 500 on the Three card Poker Table and play 25 bets. They choose a crowded table so the game is slow. Just playing 2-3 hours with 25 bets can bring them a free hotel room at the Bellagio – chances are very good that they don’t lose their 500 – chances are that they walk away with 700 – 1,000 if they are just a bit lucky. So if you are looking for some good comps in Vegas – play Three Card Poker.

The Rise and Rise of Poker An article by The Sportsman
The immense diversion of the gambling and betting industry over the last ten years has without question changed forever. The likes of football betting, online casinos and, of course, poker hardly existed on the betting landscape as horse racing was in a market of one. The internet coupled with the Lottery have transformed the industry permanently and its all the better for it.
The National Lottery place a crucial role in all this despite being hailed by bookmakers at the time as being the deathnel of the ff-course betting shop. The reality, and to be fair nobody, saw it coming, was that The Lottery sanitized the whole notion of betting it was now seen as OK to have a small flutter for a bit of fun. The internet arrived simply as the rocket fuel to pour on the naked flame.
Nevertheless, the real product winner is without question poker. The exchanges have a case but they are still, at present, seen as only for the sophisticated gambler. No doubt as the rest of the world catches up with the UK the likes of Betfair will flourish more globally but perversely they almost need the traditional bookmaker to be established before them.
Poker however seems to have swept all before it and unlike Betfair its a multitude of companies that are seeing the benefit from online bookmakers to bespoke poker sites. But why has a game that has been around for hundreds of years suddenly exploded so much?
The reality is because it is, in fact, very easy to play, if you want to see exactly how easy then check out the rules of poker. True it does take longer to master as much of the marketing will tell you but, especially online, where your face doesnt give you away those with the basics can still beat the best and the David and Goliath factor is what drives most people, especially when gambling. Whether its you versus the bookie, other poker players or other exchange users, the drive is the winning. Not necessarily the amount watch a new gambler winning a long odds-on bet with 5 wagered still delighted despite only collecting a matter of pence.
Now that so many people play can there ever be a true World Number 1? It is surely very unlikely from now that any single player will win the WSOP twice ever! This is because te sport is now completely swamped with new players many of whom are very good at their craft but elements of luck will always play a part. Some will argue this is true of any sport but in most traditional sports the best players are there or thereabouts.
Nevertheless, the figures show the game to be in rude health and seemingly not showing sings of reaching a plateau which it must at some point but the figures coming out of Party Poker and 888.com show nothing but the rise and rise of poker. Nobody should be talking of flushing or folding just yet, just wait for the Chinese to get online and the sky will be small fry as far as limits are concerned.
